Halotherapy is a completely natural technique that recreates the environment of ancient salt mines or caves.
Miners, when breaking walls and floors, were exposed to dry salt microparticles, which provided them with numerous benefits for respiratory health and skin care.
Today, this practice has evolved, and we can recreate the same effect of a natural salt mine in urban locations or even in our homes, thanks to technological advances through the use of halogenerators or halotherapy machines, which disperse salt particles in a controlled manner, creating an ideal environment to promote respiratory, skin health, and relaxation.
When inhaled or absorbed through the skin, these particles generate an overall sense of well-being, improving the quality of life for those seeking a natural and effective approach to health care.

How Does a
Halotherapy Machine Work?
Inside a natural salt cave, different levels of saline aerosol concentration coexist, generated naturally as air (humidity and temperature) interacts with the polycrystalline salt surface of the salt blocks that cover the cave.
However, the concentrations of saline aerosol in natural caves are highly variable, making it difficult to control dosage consistently.
To solve this problem, in the 1970s, research began to develop a device that could create a controlled microclimate to consistently deliver the right amount of saline aerosol.
In 1976, the first halogenerator was developed, replicating the conditions of salt mines and caves. This marks the birth of halotherapy.
The halogenerator is responsible for producing a dry aerosol of micronized salt rock inside rooms on a consistent basis.
Today, with the help of modern technology, we talk about Controlled Halotherapy, with third- and fourth-generation rooms where temperature control, humidity, particle size, and concentration are key elements.
The halogenerator must be a device capable of micronizing sodium chloride with precision to the appropriate sizes and then projecting them into the room at the concentration levels programmed for each session.
Additionally, it should be able to manage the renewal and extraction of air in the halotherapy room.
Some centers advertise having halotherapy installations, but they do not have a halogenerator.
It is important to clarify that:
Without Halogenerator there is no Halotherapy
They may have salt as a decorative element on the walls and floors, but Halotherapy can only be performed by projecting micronized salt into the air of a room adapted for this purpose, and the halogenerator is the only device capable of performing this function.
A halotherapy machine works by grinding salt crystals into microscopic particles (typically between 0.1 and 2 microns) that are then dispersed into the air by a special fan in the halogenerator.
The device includes a high-speed mill that ensures only the finest particles reach the respiratory system, while larger ones fall to the floor.
This is crucial, as the smaller particles can penetrate deep into the lungs, helping to alleviate symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions.

- Salt tank.
- Salt dispenser.
- A grinder that crushes pure sodium chloride into microparticles.
- Dispenser tube through which sodium microparticles ascend to the fan’s propulsion chamber.
- A fan that disperses dry salt aerosol through an opening into a closed room where a microclimate similar to natural salt caves or mines has been created.
- A propulsion tube through which the micronized salt particles are released into the room.
- Control is managed by pre-programmed software and an electronic board, providing synchronized and precise operation of all components.
HALOGENERATOR
Installation
- The halogenerator will be installed directly on the exterior wall.
- Installation height will be between 1100 mm and 1200 mm, measured from the floor to the center of the aerosol outlet inside the room.
- Electrical connection should be made to a 220V power outlet.
- It is recommended to install the halogenerator in technically equipped rooms independent from the rest of the center’s common areas. Installation is done outside the halotherapy room, projecting the aerosol inside through a duct we will call a «propulsion tube.» If the halogenerator were inside the room, it would receive the salty air back through the machine, disrupting its operation and altering parameters.
- Each room must have its own halogenerator and cannot be used for multiple rooms, either simultaneously or sequentially.
- The halogenerator tube should not have bends or angles; its path must be short and straight.

Usage and Maintenance
- Once the halogenerator is installed and configured, and the salt is placed in the container, simply press the start button to begin the halotherapy session.
- The halogenerator can be programmed and activated remotely via Bluetooth devices.
- All our halogenerators come with 9 preset programs, with the possibility to vary them in terms of session duration, concentration levels, etc.
- Our halogenerators are modular in design and feature powerful magnets instead of screws for easy and quick access during cleaning, ensuring simple and safe maintenance.
- Cleaning is the key to proper maintenance, and we will guide you through the different phases. Proper and systematic cleaning will extend the life of the halogenerator and ensure its correct operation.
